2025 World Cup - Day 4: Preview of Fixtures

Summary

The next couple of days of play will be crucial as teams get into the middle stages of the round-robin phase. Here is what you can expect to see to as we enter Day 4 of the tournament.

Open Men

With both India and Australia staying unbeaten through the first five rounds, both teams will be looking to consolidate their positions in their matches later tonight.

The India vs New Zealand fixture will prove to be an intriguing match-up, after the Kiwis suffered their first loss to Australia yesterday. India has never beaten New Zealand in an international fixture and will be riding the confidence of their current winning streak. Australia should be able to counter England, whilst UAE and Sri Lanka is a critical contest with both sides looking towards the vital fourth spot in the Cup phase.

Fixtures - Day 4, 30 September 2025:

Open Women

Australia are looking dominant and that should not stop, with matches against Singapore and UAE today. Three teams are behind them with three wins apiece - New Zealand, South Africa, and the UAE, with the New Zealand vs UAE fixture taking on greater significance today. England remain mid-table, and will be looking to get points from their clash with the Proteas.

Fixtures - Day 4, 30 September 2025:

Under-22 Men

Australia and South Africa remain as the unbeaten sides so far - and after South Africa’s win over defending champions New Zealand yesterday - the clash between those two sides will prove to be interesting.

New Zealand will be looking to get back on track with games against India and UAE, the latter one just as important for the Emiratis, who are in third place alongside England. England will be looking to deter the South African charge when they meet in the early evening.

Fixtures - Day 4, 30 September 2025:

*Under-22 Women

With four matches on the schedule, the marquee contest will see New Zealand and Australia line up for the second time in the round-robin phase. A tough contest saw New Zealand prevail in their first fixture, and with a game in hand and being 10 points back, Australia will be looking to close the gap with a win.

Elsewhere, the UAE will be looking to solidify their hold on third place when they play England this afternoon. England have a game in hand and have a chance to make some ground on the UAE before that match, when they take on Sri Lanka.

*India had previously entered a side, but pulled out before the start of the competition. The division is now being contested with five sides, with the double round-robin format remaining.
