WICF Planning Major Rule Changes for World Cup
The World Indoor Cricket Federation (WICF) is reportedly planning major rule changes to the game ahead of the Opens World Cup, scheduled for this coming September in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

It is understood that the rule changes, discussed at the most recent WICF meeting, are being considered in an effort to improve the dynamics of the game and the engagement of matches at international level, enhancing the spectacle of matches for both viewers and players.
The WICF had initially pencilled in six rule changes of varying varieties, however these rules have not been confirmed as yet and are subject to change. The WICF is scheduled to meet later this week to finalise and ratify which rules, if any, will go ahead.
We have been privy to this initial list of rules, but as it is possible they will be changed or amended following the WICF meeting, we have reserved publishing these for now.
It is also not clear as yet whether the rules, if implemented, will stay in place following the World Cup. We understand these will be reviewed following the completion of the tournament, further rules adopted, or the new or existing rules tweaked.
A report by Indoor Cricket News will be published next week, once the rules have been approved by the sport’s governing body. The rules have been communicated with participating countries.
